New cartonboard for luxury packaging from pankaboard.
New cartonboard for luxury packaging from pankaboard. The development of Pankalux follows recent investment at the supplier’s mill in Finland.
The new GC1 folding boxboard has been engineered with the demands of the luxury packaging market in mind and the luxury beverage sector in particular. The company said the result of the development can be seen as outstanding printing quality, an improved surface for lamination, and improved runnability on high speed packaging lines.
The new product will be officially introduced to the market at the FachPack exhibition in Germany – 27-29 September 2016, Nuremberg – where Pankaboard will be present.
Pankaboard is a global producer of special cartonboards with a capacity of 110,000 t/a. The product portfolio consists of high thickness FBB as well as various uncoated speciality boards. Luxury Packaging MW
Luxury Packaging MW has won two awards for the redesign of Jack Daniel’s Sinatra and Johnnie Walker Blue Gift Pack.
The Luxury Packaging MW was awarded Silver at the PAC Global Leadership Awards in a brand marketing category for Jack Daniel’s Sinatra, a limited edition whisky created to celebrate Frank Sinatra’s centenary year and his special relationship with Jack Daniel’s.
Each bottle is individually numbered and presented in an elegant, leather lined, midnight blue wooden box.
The second silver award, in the same category, was received for the Johnnie Walker Blue Gift Pack.
The outer packaging consists of rigid board, lined with premium paper that has been dyed and embossed, while the windows on the front and rear allow light to illuminate the whisky inside.
The inner packaging contains an injection moulded, mirror finished fitment, which suspends the bottle.
The reflective surface causes the light passing through the whisky to be projected onto the bottle and box interior. The pack is held shut using a magnetic clip, featuring the famous Johnnie Walker ‘Striding Man’ logo, attached to the side of the pack.
These redesigns were carried out last year.
Cadbury Glow Luxury Packaging by Mondelēz International
Congratulations to Cadbury Glow the judges felt this was a ‘Superb presentation of the product adding real Luxury Packaging to the pack and making it very special with ‘brilliant cardboard engineering’.
Cadbury Glow offers givers an elegantly designed gift with subtle, luxurious cues. Starting with the sleeve, the beautiful graphics connect the brand on multiple levels. The word ‘Glow’ is inviting, subtly whispering to consumers about special moments between you and your loved ones. The centre of the ‘O’ emanates light, offering depth and curiously while connecting the word ‘Glow’ and the design together as one. The light dapples are reminiscent of blurred light through a camera lens, creating a soft, glowing wallpaper that is friendly and inviting. The entire primary packaging is made from metallised cartonboard with the addition of a ribbon loop acting as a nod to traditional gifting cues. In addition, a number of finishes and effects were used to support the graphic elements; a pearlescent varnish creates a shimmering effect together with a spot gloss that enhances the glowing light. The hero features are embossed to draw further attention to the logo and praline image. The inner treasure box allows gold to be the star, with only a simple debossed logo on the front right door coupled with subtle white dapples. The gold and purple graphics are undeniably premium while also being distinctly Cadbury and warm.
